A lot happened yesterday, October 3rd, in the world of “big data”, ensuring it’ll become quite the buzzword, right up there with “cloud”.
First off, Oracle released an appliance for acquiring unstructured data called the Oracle Big Data Appliance. It leverages Hadoop and NoSQL technologies.
Speaking of appliance, StoredIQ, who has been building unstructured data solutions for some time now using their own appliance, launched a new blog, about, you guessed it, big data.
Last but definitely not least, HP closed their acquisition of Autonomy, from whom they get software to manage the growing volumes of structured and unstructured big data.
